(Locustellidae; Ϯ Common Grasshopper Warbler L. naevia) Specific name Sylvia locustella Latham 1790  < Mod. L. locustella  little grasshopper  < dim. L. locusta  grasshopper; from the whirring, high-pitched, insect-like song of the Common Grasshopper Warbler; "3. Sylvia locustella.   ...   3. Heuschreckensänger. Locustella.   E[ntwickelung]. Wie gewöhnlich.   Ch[arakter]. Rohrsänger mit geflecktem Kopf, Rücken und unteren Schwanzdeckfedern.   L[ebensart]. Sie gleichen den Rohrsängern, leben aber sehr versteckt." • "Dicrurus leucophaeus Vieill.  ...  To define the different forms is a matter of no little difficulty, for the keys hitherto given are far from satisfactory and the characters referred to thereon are not constant.  Moreover the greater the amount of material available for examination the less do the hitherto alleged differences hold good.  ...  (4) Dicrurus leucophaeus disturbans, subsp. nov.  ...  Where disturbans meets true leucophaeus in the south it is impossible to say" (Baker 1918) (syn. • "49.  Androphilus disturbans sp. nov.  ...  The specimen is not in very good condition.  ...  This bird also is quite a surprise in the Moluccas." (Hartert 1900) (subsp. Locustella castanea).
• "Acanthopneuste trochiloides disturbans, subsp. nov.   Near A. t. claudiæ, but much smaller, the underparts a little brighter and greener (in four out of five examples), ocular stripe very dark and upper parts of a somewhat brighter green.  It also resembles A. t. fokiensis Hart., but is less yellow underneath and has a different wing-formula."
