LE CRÉATOPHORE A CARONCULES.  (Creatophora carunculata, Lesson, 1837.)   Le porte-lambeaux est l'espèce de martin la plus remarquable par les crètes noirâtres qui entourent la gorge et la tête. C'est un oiseau qui vit sur les bords de la rivière du Gamtous, jusque dans le pays des Caffres, et qui se réunit par volées nombreuses et bruyantes, à la suite des troupeaux de buffles" (Lesson 1847); "Creatophora Lesson, 1847, Descr.
