Fœda fœtidaque cadaveribus victitans venatores comitatur." (Linnaeus 1758); "Buceros Linné, Syst. Nat., ed. 10, 1, 1758, p. 104. This is the seventh diagnosed genus in avian taxonomy. Linnaeus's Buceros comprised two species (B. bicornis, B. Rhinoceros).
