(Fringillidae; Ϯ Pallas's Rosefinch C. roseus) Gr. καρπος karpos  fruit; δακος dakos  biter  < δακνω daknō  to bite; "6. Pyrrhula rosea, longicauda, erythrina.   ...   6. Karminfink. Carpodacus *).   E[ntwickelung]. Wie bei Coccothraustes, Chloreus und Pyrrhula.   Ch[arakter].
