(Spheniscidae; Ϯ King Penguin A. patagonicus) Gr. απτην aptēn, απτηνος aptēnos  unwinged, wingless  < negative prefix α- a- ; πτηνος ptēnos  winged; δυτης dutēs  diver  < δυω duō  to plunge; "TABULA XXIII.   Fig. A.   APTENODYTES patagonica.   LIN.
