MS. . . .Typus: Cuculus taitiensis, Sparrm. ... L'U. taitiensis si distingue facilmente dalle specie del genere Eudynamis non solo per la coda lunga e cuneata, ma anche pel colorito, giacchè pare che costantemente essa conservi un abito che somiglia a quello dei giovani delle specie di quel genere, e che mai metta il colore nero uniforme, proprio degli adulti delle medesime, come sospettarono il Cabanis e l'Heine. Lord Walden ha fatto già notare (l.c.) la convenienza della sua separazione generica." (Salvadori 1880).
